Your first steps at Nine Black Brook will be onto our wrap around deck with Adirondack chairs and an intimate table for two overlooking the Berkshires; perfect for your morning coffee or candle lit dinner! It's difficult to turn your back on the hills, but turn the key and step into the sun porch. Here you're likely to fall asleep while reading a good book at least once during your stay!
As you step through the French door into the living area, the cool sage green walls set the tone for your vacation. Immediately, a sense of tranquility and relaxation sets in as you eye the fireplace and neatly split & stacked firewood that stretches to the ceiling. But don't sink into the deep club chairs or couches just yet, there's plenty more to see.
Make your way into the sunny eat-in kitchen and you'll realize why it's the room that everyone always ends up in. The table expands to seat six comfortably, eight if you really like the person next to you. What the kitchen is lacking in counter space, it makes up for in storage space. From utensils, frying pans, lobster pots, and dishes to fun vintage '50s egg beaters and ice cube trays (you have to see those), everything you could possibly need is here, including these essentials:
- Electronic start gas stove
- Dishwasher
- Drip coffee maker, French press, & grinder
- Toaster oven & blender
Off the kitchen is the newly renovated spa-like bathroom. Everyone comments on the elegant limestone flooring and soothing sage walls & crisp white wainscoting. The new corner shower has glass walls and rainfall showerhead. Fluffy white towels are within easy reach of the shower door as well as a variety of luxury products for your convenience. Forget yours? We've got you covered. Since you can't (read: won't want to) just run out to the store for a forgotten toothbrush or other personal item, we've done our best to compile a collection of new ones for you.
Another collection we've put together is in the cozy library. It's easy to see yourself lying on the couch with a best-seller or classic enjoying a glass of wine or dark local brew. Here you can look over the trail maps & field guides to plan your next day or break out the cards or board games... remember those?
Pass through the library and go up the stairs to find the bedrooms. The 'bunk room' is the first room you'll see. A small window overlooks the backyard in the west where the sunsets filter through the forest in brilliant shades of saffron, gold, and crimson. In this room there are two twin beds, a full bed, dressers and a large closet. Walk through to reach the master bedroom and see the harmonious Berkshire hills to the east out the picture window, which is above the king sized bed. Room darkening shades tempt sleeping in, but don't sleep too late as you'll want to enjoy everything the area has to offer!
